Boulder Creek Real Estate

First settled as a logging camp in 1865, Boulder Creek, CA is located in part of the Santa Cruz Mountains known as the San Lorenzo Valley about 45 minutes South of San Jose.  Historically, Boulder Creek incorporated in 1902 and soon grew into one of California's busiest redwood logging towns. In the late 1910s, several motion pictures were filmed on location in and around Boulder Creek. Then during the 1940s, the mountain community reinvented itself into a summer resort. Today, the town includes a golf course at the Boulder Creek Country Club, biking trails and locally brewed beer at the Boulder Creek Brewery. It also serves as the 'Gateway to Big Basin,' welcoming tourists and locals alike to Big Basin State Park, California’s first State Park. Big Basin attracts visitors from all over for its 80 miles of hiking trails through 18,000 acres of old growth and recovering redwood forest, pine, oak, chaparral and waterfalls.
